There are a handful of variations regarding energy centers in the body, but today we will be discussing a model based on 7 main chakras. The chakra system was gathered from ancient texts called the Vedas found in India.

What is a chakra?

It is an energy center which collects and transforms prana (life force). Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means “spinning wheel.” These energy centers are connected by nadis, a Sanskrit word for “rivers” and they allow prana to flow through out the chakras. When our chakra system is open and flowing; it directly improves our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It also fuels the body and mind to follow the path most aligned with your authentic self; bringing forth love, truth and fulfillment.
